Carlos M. Piocos III finished his PhD degree in Comparative Literature at The University of Hong Kong. He has an MA degree in Critical and Cultural Theory at Cardiff University and BA degree in Comparative Literature at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
He is presently working on a book manuscript based on his dissertation, which analyzes films and fiction of Filipina and Indonesian migrant women to examine how the emotions that surface from their narratives reflect and respond to political discourses on labor migration in Asia.
His prize-winning poetry book, Corpus, was published by University of Santo Tomas Publishing House, Inc. in 2010. His second book of poetry, Kung ang Siyudad ay Pag-ibig, is forthcoming from UP Press.

Corpus is Carlos Piocos III’ first poetry collection published in 2010 by the UST Press. The poems in Filipino compiles two collections that won first prizes at the Palanca Awards (2007 & 2010). The book has also been nominated at the Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award.
